Our chicks are one week old today!
Our friend, Brooklyn, was able to meet them all yesterday. She was so sweet and gentle with them.

We have really enjoyed the first week with our chicks and have noticed that in only 7 days these babies have already grown. It seems as though they have almost doubled in size and they are now starting to sprout little white feathers.

It looks like they will soon be headed into those “awkward teenage years”. Even their little faces are starting to change and we have had to raise their water line twice this week because of their increasing height.

Their personalities have also changed dramatically in their first week. They used to crowd the door as you entered the barn, so curious and friendly, but now they run as fast as they can to the other side of the room when they hear us coming.
We are having a lot of fun watching them grow and we have learned something new almost every day. We are very thankful to have wonderful family friends, who happen to be chicken farmers. They have been extremely helpful answering all of our questions and offering plenty of great advice on the best possible care for our birds in the beginning stages. Thank you, Hendrikx family!
Happy Tuesday, everyone!
