Our chickens favourite time to get on pasture is in the morning, it’s not too hot for them and they race outside as soon as the barn doors open. This group of chicken are loving oats, peas, clover and alfalfa. Luckily, we have lots available for them.

They head onto pasture each morning at around 7am and we put them back in the barn at 9pm to keep them safe and warm.

We love watching them grow and the girls and our dog are good helpers when it’s time to put them back inside. The chickens always seem ready to head in, and so far it’s never been a struggle. Usually, just the presence of our little terrier/poodle mix dog is enough to get them running inside. The lights go out at 11pm and you won’t hear a peep until the morning. We really do have a lot of fun raising these guys!

Have a great day!
